OUR STORY
Her Hide Out is the premier ladies accessories and gift boutique in Collegeville, PA. We not only pride ourselves on our top notch customer service and the extensive selection of fabulous brands that we carry, but most importantly the family owned history and culture that keeps us rooted every single day. The Hide Out brand started back in 1980 when our owner, Nancy opened her first retail store in Skippack, PA. Straight out of high school with the determination and drive to succeed, Nancy admits she has always had retail in her blood. The Hide Out story began as a side hobby hand sewing moccasins, gloves, and seat covers for family and friends. Most ask where the name came from which takes us back to that little sheepskin store in Skippack, operating under the name Hide Out – which really is a clever play on words or back then a daily reminder for Nancy as the sheepskin’s “hide” must always be “out” when sewing.
From there, Nancy built her brand empire, opening in malls and expanding the items that she carried in her store throughout the 80s and early 90s. Then in 1994 she started carrying Brighton men’s belts at her Hide Out store in the King of Prussia Mall. As the Brighton line transformed, she was approached by them to carry their new line of ladies handbags and jewelry accessories – Nancy took hold of this opportunity and completely changed her store to a ladies accessories boutique. As the years passed, she added Pandora, Vera Bradley, and other exclusive ladies brand names – truly transforming the Hide Out store to be a female dream, one-stop shop. It was in 2013, after a 23 year lease with the King of Prussia Mall, that Nancy realized the large scale mall environment was no longer where her little boutique belonged.
So in October of 2013, Nancy discovered Providence Town Center in Collegeville and there opened the doors to a larger, reinvented storefront with a new image – Her Hide Out Boutique.
Today, Her Hide Out continues to evolve, now carrying not only jewelry and accessories but also home décor, candles, and the perfect gifts for women of all ages. Nancy is still owner of Her Hide Out, however that same retail DNA in her blood, she passed down to her two daughters Stephanie and Andrea, as they put their own inputs, strengths, and love into the business that their mom has built.
